QuestionToo tall for the windows now so it doesn't get good light on the remaining foliage..... How do I cut it down to room size with out killing the plant ?
AnswerEd,
For starters corn plants do not lik direct sun shining on them. They are better off 6 feet away from a south, east or west window. That said to simply cut it off and pitch the top that you cut off you just tae a shrp pair of pruners and cut the main trun at the height you want it to be. If you want the top part to be rooted you are better off this time of year air layering it. Instructions for air layering the top off so it has roots and can be planted beside the original plant are at the following website: http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/extension/ornamentals/airlayer/airlayer.html
