QuestionMy wife and I bought three topiary Ivies for our wedding decorations. First what is the best way to make sure that they are healthy. Second, how can I ensure that they will continue to grow well.
Thanks!
AnswerHi Brad,
First, don't repot your topiaries because they do best when pot bound. Topiary ivies need the same care as regular ivies. Keep the soil moist, but not constantly wet, watering when the top half-inch of soil is dry. Provide lots of bright indirect light close to a north or east window. They prefer cool temps. Provide dilute fertilizer every month or two. Watch out for spider mites on the undersides of leaves. To help maintain their shape, cut off any long stems or else wrap and weave them around the rest of the plant.
