Plant recommendations

Question
I just bought my first house using the money from my recent divorce settlement. (Technically my ex paid for it - and more - but that is another story and he had it coming, the cheating jerk - ya play, ya PAY!) Anway, as part of the settlement, I get to furnish the house from scratch including plants. I have windows facing in all directions and the front room has 2 large floor to ceiling sliding doors facing south and west. I have a green thumb and am eager to try different plants that are out of the ordinary from what is usually seen in folks' homes. Can you please recommend about a dozen unusual, EXPENSIVE, plants that I can try? Thanks, Shawna

Answer
Hi Shawna,

In response to your Ratings comment, you indicated that you have a green thumb and you asked only for a list of a dozen plants. You did not ask for care instructions and if you had, that would have been far too much for me to reply to in this venue. If you read through my thousands of replies on AllExperts, you will see that when I give care instructions they are very thorough and complete.

If there is a specific plant in my list for which you would like care instructions let me know, but don't expect me to provide care instructions for a dozen plants. I also think it is very important for you to be very clear about the information that you want.

Hi Shawna,

It is not often that i get asked to recommend EXPENSIVE plants! Here are some possibilities:

Ming aralia (Polyscias)
Kentia palm
Rhapis palm
Dracaena arborea
Ficus lyrata
Spathiphyllum 'Sensation'
Norfolk Island pine
Staghorn fern
Philodendron selloum
Hibiscus
Pencil cactus
Crown of thorns
Specimen ponytail palm

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
