QuestionI recently purchased Aloe Vera and look forward to harvesting it for medicinal
usages. If I keep these plants indoors, how often is it recommended that I
water. What are signs of over/under watering? Can you tell me if they can go
outdoors in the spring and summer - i'm in Ohio - ?
Maybe this picture, aloe vera just like mine but this one is bigger, will help:

Thanks for the help!
AnswerHi Britany,
Keep your Aloe vera tightly potted so that you do not inadvertently promote root rot. Water your Aloe only when the soil is dry almost to the bottom of the pot. How often that is depends on light, temperature, humidity, and pot size.
If the soil is kept too moist, the leaves will become soft and yellow. If you allow it to get too dry, the leaves will shrivel.
Aloes can go outside in warm weather - above 50 degrees - but must be protected from direct sunlight.
