Questionhi Will,
my yucca cane is dying of fast and I'm almost certain theres no way to save it now. Could u tell or better yet possibly show me the correct way to propagate my yucca cane palm. I've read numerous article on how to do it but they're all so confusing and seem so complicated
AnswerHi Luke,
You haven't provided much information about your Yucca, so it is hard for me to respond. A photo sent to
[email protected] would at least allow me to assess the condition of your Yucca and determine if it can be propagated.
Without that information, I will give you general instructions that might not apply to your Yucca.
Cut off the top 6-12 inches of the healthier stems. These stems should be firm and white inside when you cut through them. Insert the bare ends of these cuttings into plain water and keep them in bright light. Change the water once per week. After 1-2 months you should have roots that are about an inch long. Any time after that, you can move the rooted cuttings into a small pot filled with damp potting mix.
For more detailed information on plant propagation, send a request to my e-mail address above for my article on plant propagation.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
