QuestionI have had my bamboo plant for around two years. It has now formed a ring of white mineral build-up around the bottom of each stem. I was wondering if there is any way I can clean the current build up off without hurting the plant and prevent this from happening in the future. Thank you.
AnswerHi Carolyn,
Probably the best way to clean the mineral crust from the stems is to scratch it off with your fingernail or a dull knife. Be careful not to cut through the stems or to damage the roots
The mineral deposits are coming from the high mineral content in your water. If you use distilled or filtered water with your lucky bamboo, then that should prevent this problem in the future.
