Questionhow often should you water these plants?
AnswerBonnie,
When you water it give it enough water that all the soil in the pot gets moist but not super wet. Try not to leave a lot of water in the drain tray. It should always be planted in a pot with a drain hole and a drain tray under it. If you have too much water in the drain tray remove some of it with a turkey baster.
Then do not water it again until the top 2-4 inches of soil is dry. There will still be moisture lower in the pot. If it is a large pot you can use a moisture meter or a bamboo skewer from the grocery store and do not water it until the soil in the top half of the pot is dry so the roots have a chance to breath a bit between waterings. There is no set number of days, it depends on your soil, the size of your plant, the size of the pot, etc. It is better to judge by the dryness of the soil. It will vary by the time of year and how acctively the plant is growing. Good luck.
