Is this bad!

Question
I have a Pineapple plant, I just got it under a month ago! It already has a pineapple growing on it, It's about the size of a baseball! I was told to keep it outside on the sunny hot days but to gradually do it so it wont get sunburned! About two weeks after I put it outside it started getting little brown circles on the leaves! I figured they'd go away so I didn't think much! Now there is a lot more of them, I don't know what it is and I cant find anything about them! Do you know what it is and how to get rid of it! I don't want to hurt my plant! Please help me!

Answer
Hi Kristina,

The advice was bad, but you are not!

Potted ornamental pineapple plants are grown in shaded greenhouse where the light is very bright, but filtered. That is what they are adapted to. They will not adapt to outdoor direct sun.

The circles are probably sunburn. They will not go away. However, you can prevent more by keeping your pineapple in a cool shaded area outside or in a sunny location inside.
