suporting an anthurium

Question
I have had my anthurium for just over a year now.  It has flowered once, which is supprising to me, considering I removed it from a tropical green house.  It is doing well, but is now getting to the point where it is dificult for it to support its self.  I have some little wood stakes holing it now, but they are begging to fail.  What is a good way to support it, in a natural way?

Answer
Hi Wade,

It is unusual for an Anthurium to require any support if it is growing in the bright light that it requires to be healthy.

If you can email a photo to me at [email protected], then I can see what you are seeing and may be able to make some suggestions that might include cutting off the top section and rooting it.

Regards,
Will Creed
