Hibiscus plant

Question
I have an indoor hibiscus plant.  Can I put it outside during the summer months?

Answer
Hi Jan,

Even the more tender varieties of Hibiscus can withstand temps down to 40 degrees in the fall. So unless, you are living in a very cold part of the world, your Hibiscus is fine outside from now until temps drop to 40 degrees at night.

Other than temperature, you should also be concerned about light intensity, which is much greater outdoors. If your Hibiscus was grown indoors, then you should keep it in a shaded spot when it is outside. Protect it from the direct rays of the outdoor sun to avoid causing the leaves to bleach out to a pale, unhealthy color.
