Question
I am moving two and one-half hours away. My cheffelera needs repotting and probably pruning.  When is a safe time to do this?  How can I safely move the plant with some stems as tall as three to four feet?

Hello Frances,

You probably don't want to repot right before you're going to be moving. The best thing would be to get the plant settled into whatever its new growing conditions are then repot. When pruning you can cut the plants stems down to whatever height you think would be easiest to move. Scheffeleras are tough plants and any pruning is just going to encourage new growth.
