Aloe Vera Houseplant

Question
Hello Will, I have an Aloe Vera plant, approx 2 -3 feet tall, and approx 4yrs old,  which flowered for the first time last December. I am concerned as I don't know whether I should just leave the long shoot in the middle where the flower was, as it does not seem to be dying back at all. Very grateful for any suggestions, Many thanks, Helen

Answer
Hi Helen,

That flower spike will never produce any more flowers although the plant will. It does no harm to leave the spike in place, but it will not harm the plant or discourage future flowers if you cut it off.

Congratulations on your good care of this plant!
