QuestionA coworker said while we were admiring the plant that it can kill cats if they eat it. Is this true because I received a lilly for my birthday recently
AnswerHello Carolyn,
Yes these plants are poisonous to cats. The upshot is that it causes irritation in the mouth and throat when eaten in small amounts. So if your cats are smart they'll chew on it once then never go near it again. However, if your animals are the type that never seem to learn from mistakes(like mine) they could keep going back to the plant and eventually eat enough to be deadly.
Good Luck,
Justin
