QuestionHi. I recently bought a money tree from the super market. Since I've brought
it home its top leaves have developped little brown-rimmed holes in them --
some in the center of the leaves, some along the edges -- it looks like
something's chewing on my plant, but I don't see any signs of bugs. There's
plenty of new growth and it's not wilting. What's going on?
AnswerJami,
You may have had insect eggs on the plant when you bought it and the larva hatched without you noticing them and were gone before you noticed the holes. Have you seen a stray moth or weird fly flying around your house that you wondered where that came from? You might take a bottle of rubbing alcohol and put it in a spray bottle and thoroughly spray the plant making sure you get the tops and bottoms of all the leaves and the surface of the soil. Other than that it is probably too late to do anything else. Unless you see more signs of insects or actual insects I think your problem is gone. I have had the same thing happen. The leaves will not heal but the newer leaves that develop will not have the same holes. Good luck.
