QuestionHi, there is a plant my grandmother had and she calls it a "penny tree" ive looked everywhere online for it and apparently that isnt what its called. My deceased mother bought her one and she really wants one again. The tree has been dead for over 10 years but she still has the leaves from it. The leaves are in a circular shape and are brown. they have about 4 seeds in each leaf. It was an interesting tree. I cant find it anywhere. Ive looked through dozens of webpages to find something, but nothing has come up. Any info you may have would be mch appreciated, thanks !!

AnswerNicole,
I think your grandmother's plant may be MONEY PLANT or Lunaria annua. It is a bienniel plant for your flower garden. You can look at the pictures at the 2 websites below and see if that is her plant.

Let me know if it is. You can order the seed from the second website if you can't find them at your local garden center. You plant them this year ASAP and they will come up but will not produce flowers until next year. If it is not that there are some other possibilities but I am pretty sure that is your plant. The purple flowers are lovely too and mine are blooming right now. The seeds will strat forming in June and be harvested in July. Let me know. Good luck.
