Split-leaf Philodendron in shock.

Question
I am really concerned, I took advice from a neighbor and split my large indoor Split-Leaf Philodendron into two pots.  I have never done this before.  It's been almost a week and several leaves are turning yellow, not all but certainly enough for me to think that it is in shock.  Will it recover?  What can I do to insure that I don't loose this plant? It is really special to me and you're help is very appreciated.  Thanks so much.

Answer
Lauren,

Are leaves in both pots turning yellow or just one? What size pot was the plant in before the division? What size pots did you put the two plants in after the division?

Be very careful not to let them sit with water standing in their drain trays. Do not overwater these plants. Make sure they are both getting bright light.  Go to a garden center and get a product called B-1 or Starter Fluid to put on transplanted plants. It helps newly transplanted plants develop roots better.

Let me know the answers to my questions at the beginning and I will let you know if you have any other problems to consider. Good luck.

Darlene
