QuestionI recently acquired a plant from a friend, and neither of us knows what it is. I think it's a succulent, but it'd be helpful to know exactly what it is so I can be sure to care for it properly. I do have a picture of it, but it looks like I don't have the option of posting it here. Thanks for the photo. Your mystery plant is a Hindu rope plant (Hoya carnosa 'Hummel's compacta').
Hoyas must have a lot of bright indirect light all day and a few hours of direct light, as well. Keep it as close to a sunny window as possible. In addition, keep it potbound and on the dry side and don't change its location. Disturb it as little as possible. Do NOT use a high nitrogen fertilizer.
