QuestionI have a yuka plant that I put outside too early and I think the frost got to it. Is there anyway I can save this plant?
Thanks!
Answer Hello Phyllis,
Depending on the species Yuccas are pretty cold hardy for the areas they're native to and can survive some relatively low temps for a short time. Yucca elephantipes is a pretty common species and can take a light frost for a short time if it is mature and the soil was dry at the time.
Im going to need to know a few things before I can answer you.
1. Do you know the species?
2. Did it actually get frosted?
3. How long was it out at these temperatures?
4. What condition are the leaves and stem in now?
Is this your plant? I think you meant Yucca in your question. ...I wouldn't do an image search for yuka. You get some interesting results that have nothing to do with plants.
