QuestionI have several antheriums which are doing quite well in a north facing window. Have been feeding Schultz 10-10-5 All Purpose plant food but wonder if they may be happier with orchid food of which I have 3 different formulas. Thanks, Linda
AnswerHello Linda,
I don抰 have any experience with this genus of the Araceae family. If it is anything like the peace lily (Spathiphyllum), also a member of the Araceae family, it will do fine with an all purpose food. Something you should take into consideration is whether your Anthurium is an epiphytic(doesn't grow in soil) species or a terrestrial species. What may work well for an epiphytic orchid may not be ideal for a terrestrial plant. I would recommend switching one of your plants to the orchid formula as a test run to see how it turns out.
That said; if it's not broke don't fix it. If the plants are doing well with what you're using there's no real need to change things. But you never know if you're missing out until you try. I'd be interested in hearing how it turns out if you decide to test one of your plants with an orchid formula.
Hope this helped,
Justin
