Questioni have recently purchased a white flowering jasmine plant and have placed it on
my balcony. It has been very sunny, and i have an east facing balcony. I water it
just enough to keep it moist, but the flowers are becoming brown and crispy,
even the buds are brown and crispy dry, can you tell me what i am doing wrong?
AnswerLaila,
The soil should not be spongy. Just not bone dry. It sounds like you are overwatering it. Water it but an hour later you should empty the drain tray under the plant. It hates sitting in a swamp. Then do not water it again until the surface of the soil feels dry for 2 days, there is still plenty of moisture lower in the pot. If or when you repot it add sand to the potting soil, 2 parts potting soil and 1 part builders sand availble at Lowes or Home Depot. Good luck.
