QuestionHi Darlene,
I have just started growing plants indoor. I have had my shamrock for only a few weeks now and it was doing beautiful until today when i got home and all the stems were limp and hanging over the pot. I have not switch it from the store pot and I water it once a week. The weather has been cloudy since i got it and today it was very sunny and got a lot of sun. I watered it a bit because the soil was pretty dry. Is that enough todo? How often should I be watering it?
AnswerTammy,
You should not be waiting to water it until it is bone dry and limp. You should check the surface of the soil after about 3 days and see if it is dry, if it is pick the plant up and see if it feels light weight, if it does water it thoroughly so that some water goes into the drain tray under the plant and all the water in the pot is moist. An hour later dump the extra water out of the drain tray. Do not leave it sitting all night with a full drain tray, it hates sitting in a swamp. It should be fine in the pot it came in. I don't think the sun had anything to do with the problem, they love the sun, I thin it just got way to dry. You have to be careful about the watering and follow the instructions above.
