QuestionHi,
I recently purchased a beautiful Draceana and the leaves are just not doing well. They constantly are turning brown from the end up while the green is still a dark color. I have snipped the edges, but this only makes them worse and the whole leaf starts to turn brown. I have it out of direct sunlight in the house and keep it moist by watering once a week. Please help with any advice you can.
TIA,
Kristina
AnswerHi Kristina,
Do you know which kind of Dracaena you have? If not, can you email a photo to me at

Trimming off the brown edges will not make the problem worse. The problem is simply progressing despite the trimming. Let's see if we can determine the cause of the problem.
How far away is the nearest uncovered window and which direction does that window face?
Is you local tap water on the hard or alkaline side?
How tall is the plant and how wide is the pot? When was it last repotted?
How long have you had it?
How dry is the soil when you water? How much water do you give it when you do water?
Sorry about all the questions, but the better information I have, the better help I can provide.
