QuestionHi Will,
I recently cut my dumbcane way back & decided to try propagating by cane cuttings. I laid 4 pieces of the cane on top of soil in a 4" pot. I then placed the pot in a plastic bag & sealed it up. I now have 3 of the 4 pieces starting to sprout but I'm not sure if the last one will. My question is, do I have to transplant them out of the 4" pot or can I just leave them all in there to grow together? Should I take them out of the plastic bag now? Thank you for your advice.Pam
AnswerGood work, Pam!
No, you don't have to transplant them. They will do just fine together in one pot. It will make for a fuller-looking plant.
Now that the pieces have started to sprout, you can gradually open and remove the plastic over the course of a week. The point is to acclimate the new plants gradually.
