QuestionDoes the lucky bamboo I'm growing in water HAVE to have pebbles in the bottom? Mine does not.

AnswerHi Ali,
The pebbles are there only for decorative purposes and to help keep the stems upright. There is no reason to add pebbles to yours unless you think it will look better that way.
Lucky bamboo are really Dracaena cuttings rooting in water. Like other cuttings, they will be fine in plain water for about a year or so before they start to deteriorate. At some point it is best to move them into a small pot with moist soil that will provide them with the nutrients they need.
