QuestionMY AMARYLLIS HAS FINISHED BLOOMING AND HAS MANY GREEN SHOOTS OR LEAVES,PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO HAVE IT BLOOM AGAIN. THANK YOU
AnswerMatt,
When the temperature outdoors is above 50 degrees at night consistently you need to put your amaryllis outdoors in full sun in the pot and water it with fertilizer every 2 weeks to feed the bulb. The more sun and fertilizer the plant gets the larger the bulb will get and the more blooms you will get next year. Late in the summer the leaves should start turning yellow and dying back. At that time withhold water and when it is dry place the plant, pot and all in a brown paper bag in a cool dark closet. Monthly you should check it and give it 1-2 tablespoons of water. After a 3-4 month rest it should start sending out new growth and at that time get it out and put it in a very sunny location and enjoy the new blooms. If ylou have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
