QuestionCan you take a starter from a healthy Peace Lilly?
AnswerHi Tami,
It is possible to separate a single plant from a pot that has multi-plants in it. If you look carefully at a full-sized peace lily, you will probably see there are several separate plants growing out of the soil.
You would have to very carefully pull the roots of one of those plants away from the rest of the plant. This is very difficult to do because the roots are entangled and because peace lilies are very sensitive to having their roots disturbed.
I do not recommend doing this because it is risky not only to the starter but also to the main plant. That doesn't mean it cannot be done. Just be aware that it is high risk before you try.
BTW, peace lilies cannot be propagated by taking cuttings.
