QuestionThe blooms on my peace lilies are beginning to sag. Do I cut them off or what? What can I do about it.
AnswerHi Alaina,
Peace lily flowers only last for about a week before they start to wilt, fade or discolor. There is nothing you can do to prevent that. However, if you allow the soil to get dry enough for the leaves to wilt, then the flowers will wilt prematurely. Exposure to cold will also cause premature wilting.
After the flowers have faded, cut off the flower stem where it emerges from the leaf stem.
I have written an article on peace lilies that I will email to anyone who emails me a request at my address below.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
