QuestionI have a habit of rescuing plants from the dying row (clearance row) at my local garden center. This time on my browse I found a messangeana cane plant. I know about not watering it often and wait until the soil is dry to water again. (It was very moist on rescue yesterday.) But The plant I brought home had been cut, both the trunkish part and the two sprouting stalks. There are no leaves on it anywhere. Will it regrow and what can I do to help it along?
Thank you.
AnswerMelissa,
It should regrow unless it is too far gone. If the trunk is solid and not mushy it should be fine. Just be patient and after you see new growth give it a dose of fertilizer to help it along. Keep it in a bright but not sunny location. As you said let it dry out well between waterings. Good luck.
