QuestionI am looking for some suggestions for a fragrance-free (or virtually), low-maintenance, flowering indoor plant. I have a windowsill that gets plenty of sunlight and would like something pretty in it, but I also have some fragrance allergies. Thanks for your help.
AnswerHi Brook,
Identifying fragrance-free flowering plants can be difficult because so many flowering plants are hybrids that may or may not have had their fragrance bred in or out.
My suggestions would be African violets (they do need protection from direct sun), Kalanchoe, and Hoya. All are relatively care-free and are not noted for their fragrance. But double-check the fragrance part before you purchase, just to be sure.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
