QuestionHi, I recently bought a Peace Lily 3 weeks ago. It has started to droop and the larger blooms have turned brown. How do I save this plant?
AnswerHi Adrienne,
Usually a peace lily droops when the soil gets too dry. If so, then it should perk up several hours after the soil is saturated. If the droop continues even when the soil is wet, then that usually means that the roots have rotted (because the soil stayed too moist) and are no longer capable of absorbing water from the soil for the rest of the plant.
The browning of the flowers can occur in either situation.
I have written an article on peace lily care that I will email to anyone who sends a request to my email address below.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions. If you would like to e-mail me some photos, I may be able to provide some additional insights.
