Can you please identify the plant in the photo I emailed you? It looks very similar to my Aglaomena but the leaves are considerably thicker and stiffer. Thanks!

Thanks for the photos. Not only are the leaves thicker and stiffer than an Aglaonema, but they also lack the midrib that Aglos have.
I believe that your plant is a Cordyline terminalis (Ti) It's foliage looks like an Aspidistra, but its stem dictates otherwise.
