AnswerSebastion,
Ficus trees are very resilient. Put the soil back in the pot or fill it in with new soil. Make sure it is getting as much sun as possible, the more sun it gets the quicker it will recuperate. Make sure the surface of the soil is dry before it is watered again. It should be fine within a couple of months. It may loose some leaves but it is not going to die unless it is not getting enough sun or it is getting too much water. I would keep the dog away from it in the future. Dumping a bottle of cayenne pepper on top of the soil will not hurt the plant but it may keep the dog out of it. Good luck.
