QuestionDuring the onset of winter I potted my Gerbera Daisies and brought them in. They have been blooming during the Holidays despite some sort of mold on the leaves. I really enjoy these plants and plan to replant them in the Spring if they survive. One of them is from last year so I know I can do it, but would like to eliminate whatever is ailing them.
I will send you pictures in a separate email.
AnswerHi Bob,
Thanks for the photos. The photos don't show texture very well so it is hard to be positive, but I am quite sure that your Gerberas have a fungus disease called powdery mildew. This is a common occurrence when outdoor plants are brought inside.
The only effective treatments of powdery mildew are systemic fungicides that list powdery mildew on the label. Read the label carefully and follow all instructions.
At least one of your Gerberas looks barely alive. You might want to consider tossing it and getting a new one next spring.
