QuestionHi, I have a new plant and the leaves are turning brown all the time. I have the plant in a clay pot, in my window with indirect light. Can you tell me how to care for it. Thanks!!
AnswerHi Terry,
Your Monstera requires lots of bright indirect light. That means it should be within 6 feet of a south window and right in front of a north window. The window should be uncovered throughout the daylight hours.
It prefers to stay quite potbound. If you moved it into a large pot, then the extra soil may be keeping the soil too moist. If it is in the right sized pot, then allow the top quarter of the soil to dry out before watering it thoroughly.
Light, pot size and water are the most important things. Humidity and fertilizer don't matter much at all.
