QuestionWhy do the leaves tend to fall so much? I have one that does not loose its leaves as much as the other one. What can I do to stop the tree from loosing the leaves.
AnswerEsther,
Cut back on the water and move it to a sunnier location. I suspect that the one not loosing it's leaves is more rootbound and maybe in a sunnier location.
However, you must also understand that this plant is not a cute little shrub that will stay small forever. This plant will eventually grow to be a 50' tall tree or larger with a trunk with a 1 foot diameter and no leaves on the trunk.
If it is your larger one that is dropping the leaves it is probably tryinng to change from it's immature shrubby stage to it's more mature tree stage.
If you want to keep it small with leaves up and down the trunk you will have to periodically air layer the top off the plant and discard the lower portion and put the top back in the regular pot. Directions for air layering are at this site:

Iif you haqve more questions write again. Good luck.
