High amount of nitrogen in soil

Question
the compost I used for my houseplants was under a plane tree and so contain crow residue which is full of nitrogen is it harmfull for the plant and how can I eradicate them?

Answer
Reza,

I don't know of any way to eliminate it other than mixing with purchased potting soil. It's harm depends on what type of houseplants we are talking about. It will not hurt green plants unless it is way too fresh and therefore too strong. It will make them grow larger and bushier. It will hurt blooming plants in that it will cause growth in the leaves and no blooms. If you fertilize it at all you need to look for a fertilizer in which the potassium and potash are high and the nitrogen is low. That would probably be a fertilizer for blooming plants. The first number needs to be the lowest, something like 5-20-20. Good luck.
