yellowing corn plant

Question
My corn plant is about 4 foot tall. I have had it for about 3 years. I repotted it about one year ago. About a month or two ago I noticed yellow spot forming on the leaves, some of these have turned brown. I have not changed my watering schedule. It has a water reservoir under the pot and stay half full most of the time. It is in a room with a sliding glass door. So it gets a fair amount of light. I don't know what could be causeing these changes, any suggestions?

Answer
David,

I do not like the self watering plants because the plants never dry out and this plant needs to get dry between waterings. Spots like this are usually caused by water with chlorine and flouride in it. Corn plants hate chlorine and flouride. The water needs to sit for 48 hours before you use it to water and the chlorine and flouride will dissipate. Wait till the resevoir is empty for at least 3 days before filling it again. If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
