QuestionHi Darlene,
I have a spider plant that is about 2 years old. It is very big and beautiful with many babies on it. I have since transplanted some babies and they have also gotten quit big, but I am starting to notice that on some of the babies that I've transplanted a few of the bigger leaves have creased about 1 inch from the stalk. The leaves remain limp and bent and a crease forms where the breakage is. What do you think could be causing the creasing? Should I just cut the leaves off near the stalk? Other then the creasing leaves the plants are doing great! Thanks!
AnswerJennifer,
I have never experienced any of my spider plants leaves creasing on their own. Either the plant fell and ended up with creaesed leaves or someone droppped something on it. I'm not saying it couldn't happen but I have no idea what might have caused it other than falling or something dropped on it. Yes, you should cut the leaves off if they are whithering, they will not come back. New leaves will grow. Do you have a cat by chance or a pet bird that may have caused the damage? If you have more questions feel free to write again. Good luck.
