Norfolk pine separation

Question
i have a northfork pine that is about 4 foot tall but there is 5 plants in the pot. can they be separed without killing them thanks, nancy

Answer
Hi Nancy,

Theoretically, it is possible to divide the rootball and separate the plants. However, this would very likely stress the plants and cause sever damage. I do not recommend doing it for that reason.

Beyond that, there is no good reason to separate them. Having multiple plants in the same pot makes for a much fuller, com[act look. I know it is commonly believed that the roots crowd one another. This simply isn't true. Multiple plants can continue to live in harmony in the same pot just fine.
