QuestionI read your answer to why the leaves on this plant would dry up and turn black. should I repot it? And if so What should I use for soil. I did repot it when I got it in April and I used regular potting soil from the hardware store with miracle grow in it.
AnswerHi Lori,
I have answered thousands of questions on this site, so I do not recall which answer you are referring to.
Unless a plant is drying out enough to need a through watering at least every 3 days, then repotting is not going to solve any problem. In fact, if you repot unnecessarily you will create more problems.
Schefflera leaves that turn black are typically caused by overwatering, too large a pot, or exposure to cold.
I don't think your plant needs to be repotted, but the appropriate potting mix is one that is peat-based and soilless.
