Sick Money Plant

Question
I have a money plant that is SICK... and before I kill it, (gift from boss at work, plant at work)but the plant has wilted leaves, it looks as though something has been dining on the leaves, etc. It has not been over-watered, does not get direct sunlight, and in general it is well cared for. I have a picture of it to forward, but I don't see a way to send it to you. All-in-all, the plant went "south" about a week ago, and the only thing that has happened is the holidays and a bit cooler in the office due to no-one at work. The plant had started to get sick before the weekend though.

Answer
Hi Jonathan,
The problem could be your plant has insects.
Check the plant carefully, especially the undersides of the leaves. Most plant pests are very small so you will need to look closely. Spider Mites are so small you cannot see them without a strong magnifying glass but you can see the webbing that very high populations produce.
If you find any sign of insect presence wash the plant really well with a strong spray of water. This will wash off as many of the insects as possible.
I recommend that you use a commercial insecticidal soap spray.
Repeat treatment every 5-7 days until there is no sign of insect presence.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
