QuestionI have a potted palm tree and its lower leaves are starting to brown and look dry. I water it about once a week. It gets sun, but not a lot of direct light. I had another palm and it did the same thing. What am I doing wrong?
AnswerHi Andrea,
Palms need high humidity. Setting a large tray of pebbles about half filled with water under the plant will help raise the humidity around the plant. Palms also benefit from daily misting.
Another problem may be that you are overwatering. You should allow the top 1-2 inches of soil dry between watering.
I hope this helps. If you have any questions or need additional information please don't hesitate to ask.
Thanks
Tracy
