Wandering Jew Plants

Question
Can this plant be taken inside after being outside all summer/fall -- allowed to become dormant, then rewater in the spring & be put outside?

Answer
Sharyn,

It can be taken in and hung in the sunniest window you have. You can prune it back by up to half so it doesn't take up the whole window. It cannot be allowed to go dormant. It does not have bulbous roots to store energy in so if it dries out and whithers up it is dead. They do tend to get scraggly looking in the winter because there is less light indoors than out. You can put them in a location out of direct view, just don't forget to water them and in March start fertilizing them once a month. In spring you can hang the scraggly looking plant outside in full sun again and it will perk up and get beautiful again in just a few weeks. Good luck.
