sap under money tree leaves

Question

I  have had a braided money tree for 3 or 4 years.  It has always been green and healthy looking.  Lately it's leaves have begun to turn yellow and spotty and I noticed some sap under the leaves.  I don't see any sign of any pests or scale or anything.  What can I do?

Answer
Hi Betsy,

I need a little more detailed information.

How many leaves are turning yellow and getting spots?

Where are these spots located - lower leaves, upper leaves or all leaves?

Is the sap on the undersides of the leaves or is it dripping onto the table or floor under the tree?

Do you know what scale looks like? Is it possible that there is scale but you are not recognizing it?

If you can email some photos to me at [email protected], that would answer many of my questions.

Regards,
Will Creed
