QuestionEvery Spring I move my sheflera out to a shady spot. It thrives. Last nite with frost warning in mind I moved it back in....it has gotten huge and will leave not room for my cactus (4' high). It's in a @ 3 gallon plastic "urn" and now is bushy & stands 6' high. I've got to trim this....tips?
AnswerDavid,
They are easy to prune, use sharp pruners or scissors and cut just above where a leaf joins the stalk. Just stand back and look at it to decide which branches need to go to acheive a nice shape. You can cut as much or as little off as you would like. I have one sheff that was once 3-4 feet tall and it is now a bonsai tree. Do not repot your sheff unless you want it to grow even larger. Good luck.
