QuestionI have a peace lily from my father's funeral, which was in Alabama. I live in Michigan. I noticed that a couple of the leaves have been eaten and there are white spots on some leaves. The problem is small at the present, but I would like to keep this for a long time. What do I do for pest control? The plant is in a 12 inch pot and sits near a window.
AnswerHi Evelyn,
I am sorry about your dad. My condolences to you and your family.
Can you describe the white spots for me? Do the spots look dusty or do they look like little bits of cotton? Where on the plant are you finding the white spots? Is it now or was it recently in bloom?
There are no indoor plant pests that chew holes in leaves. Sometimes there are leaf deformities that look like they were eaten. Also, peace lily leaves tear and shred easily if they are brushed against.
