QuestionDarlene,
thanks for taking my question. I have an pony tail for over 23 year and is doing beautiful. My question is to you . I inherited a ponytail from my mom it was about 4 feet tall with a long base and the green was only at the top . I transplanted into a bigger pot. when my husband brought in the house to top of the plant where all the green is broke off. The only thing left is the long base. Will this produce more starts or is the plant a lost cause. please help me. Not sure if I can try to raise it again, or should I just give up on it .
Any help is appreciated .
Thanks again
look forward to your answer

AnswerSherri,
Yes, set the plant outdoors in a sunny location and it will grow a new top. Maybe several. If so I would pick the 2 or 3 best situated at the top of the stalk and remove the rest of them. These plants love full sun and can be keop outdoors as long as the night temperatures are above 50 degrees, Enjoy your ponytail plant. The latin name for this plant is beaucarnea recurvata. Good luck.
