Is my plant a caladium

Question
I got a lil starter from an aunt & potted it...it has grown beautifully but the taller it gets its falling like its to heavy for the stalk section (if i worded that right) almost like it wants to grow like ivy does. do i did a plant search to see what it is & if i should use a stick to hold it up or let it grow up or around something else. anyway according to what i found its shape is exactly that of Caladium but it is all light green the smaller ones or almost white towards the center but when they get taller 7 bigger they turn all light green i looked at the elephant ear pics & it is much lighter than that please help

Answer
Hi Renee,

You seem to be describing an arrowhead vine or Syngonium podophyllum.

These plants do tend to bend under the weight of their leaves. By providing very bright, but indirect light, the stems will grow thicker and be better able to support the leaves. But even so, gravity will eventually prevail.

You can certainly use stakes or a trellis to support the stems as long as it looks good to you.

In nature this is a climbing vine.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
