QuestionRecently an areca palm of mine was exposed to sunlight that was too strong and in the proccess many leaves were burned and I procceeded to remove them. Will the fronds regrow new leaves? If the fronds do not grow new leaves, will they survive with the new fronds that are beginning to grow near the base?
AnswerHi Rob,
You have done the right thing. An individual frond will not not grow new leaves. All new growth will be new fronds emerging from the individual stems. However, it is not good to cut off the growing tip of any stem. That sometimes stops new growtrh on that stem.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
