QuestionI have a Zebra plant which was repotted immediately after purchasing. I've had the plant for approximately one week. Water was added when we transplanted the plant to a larger pot. Although we have excellent window lighting (light from the sun), the plant leaves droop when receiving direct or indirect sunlight. Upon arriving in the evening, I'd use my plant lights to revive the plant. Consequently, my Zebra plant looks fantastic under plant light but almost lifeless otherwise. Please help.
AnswerHi Lorraine,
It is hard to draw any firm conclusions after only a week. I am not surprised that direct sun causes it to droop, but I am surprised that indirect light is causing it to droop. Perhaps it is getting some direct sun when you don't realize or very warm temps during the day. Maybe check to see how it does on a day when you are at home.
In any case, you may want to stick with the plant lights, if that is what they are responding to.
Be very careful to allow the soil to dry out properly in between waterings as moving plants to larger pots often leads to root rot because the excess soil retains extra water.
Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
